An exhibition of produce related to the world of honey, which is held at the beginning of November in Perillo town market. There you can find everything from beekeepers to cheese, honey and various craft makers. Music, games, and octopus stalls turn this market into a festive day.
An exhibition of popular pottery which is held at the beginning of August in the Luís Seoane Park in Santa Cruz, attended by craftspeople from all over Spain. Crafts, tradition and nature come together to offer the visitor a sample of the heritage that we have received from our ancestors.
Various cultural activities take place simultaneously with the fair, such as concerts, pottery making, etc. A visit to the fair can be rounded off by calling at the Os Oleiros Museum.
Carnival is celebrated in several parishes, but the celebrations that take place in Oleiros are particularly outstanding: the “Entroido dos vellos” (Carnival of the Elders), that is dedicated to the town’s Elders. There are theatrical performances, costume and dance competitions, and music, all these accompanied by sweets and deserts typical of this festivity: filloas (pancakes), orellas (thin fried ear-shaped sweet pastry)...
A race consisting of running, cycling and swimming, that is held every Spring in Mera. The heats are carried out in the sea promenade and the surroundings of A Lagoa Park. Both neighbours and federated sportspeople from all over Galicia take part in them.
A Galician trawler rowing boat competition that takes place every summer in Santa Cristina beach.
A swimming contest with Santa Cristina Beach as the arrival point. The competition consists of three different races (6000, 3000 and 2000 metres) departing from Mera, Santa Cruz and Bastiagueiro Beaches. This race is held in July.
Every Saturday in July and August, the front terraces of Mera, Santa Cruz and Santa Cristina’s bars liven up with the best live music.
This is a music event held in October in Santa Cruz, whose aim is to promote and support the local bands.
