Enjoy the ruggedness of our coast

Dexo-Serantes Coast Natural Monument

The Dexo-Serantes Coast Natural Monument is a valuable 11 km long stretch of coast that goes from the Mera Lighthouse to Lorbé Port.

The singularity of the ecosystems and habitats of the Dexo-Serantes Coast, its geomorphology and landscape granted it the title of Natural Monument in 2000, and as a result has become part of the Galician Network of Protected Natural Spaces. It is also part of the Natura 2000 network, catalogued as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC), and it is one of the main areas included in the Biosphere Reserve of the Mariñas Coruñesas e Terras do Mandeo (Coruña Wetlands and Mandeo Lands).

The Dexo-Serantes Coast is an extraordinary place to enjoy the roughness of the sea breaking against breathtaking cliffs, to watch the native birds and plants, and to practice hiking.

It is a very fragile environment, so we all must do our best to preserve this invaluable space.
